Repton Parish Council have recognised, through surveys and parish feedback, that there is a lack of facilities for all age groups in the village and especially for those younger members of our community.
We conducted a survey in 2019 which contained a section for suggestions from the community and many suggestions related to bikes/bmx/skateboards etc.
With this in mind the Parish Council have agreed to pursue the provision of providing a Multi-wheeled track on the Mitre Field, Repton, which is in Trust for the children of the village.
This project is favoured as it accommodates young people from the ages of 2–16 of all abilities and even wheelchairs, therefore fully inclusive. It is suitable for roller skates, scooters, boards, bikes, etc.
However, in order for this sympathetically landscaped track to come to fruition, the Council intends to apply to various funding sources eg. Sport England etc, but must prove there is a ‘need’ for such a structure. Also we want to be aware of any concerns people may have about such a proposal although it is planned to create this at the furthest point from nearby properties and these tracks do not usually generate much sound or nuisance. It will be similar, but slightly shorter, than the Pump Track at Findern, which has not generated any negative social issues.
In view of the above we would appreciate your support or comments by:
